Luisa Sander, M.A.

Luisa Sander (*1999) grew up in Hamburg and has lived in Leipzig since 2014. Due to her great interest in art and design, she began studying architecture at HTWK Leipzig in 2018. She first completed her bachelor's degree in 2021, continued her master's degree immediately afterwards and graduated with a Master of Arts in 2023.
During her studies, she worked as a student trainee in architecture firms to gain professional experience and practical knowledge. Her participation in the architectural technology research module in October 2021 led to her first contact with FLEX. As part of her research project, she dealt with the hygroscopic material behaviour of wood as the basis for climate-sensitive shading elements. She deepened this approach in her research-oriented master's thesis.
Since January 2025, Luisa has been continuing her research work CLIMATE SENSITIVE SHADES (CSS) as part of a cooperative doctorate at TU Dresden and HTWK Leipzig. She is a research assistant at the FLEX.team in the project Recycling for Reuse (ReFoRe) and supervises students in the architectural technology research module seminar.
In her free time, she enjoys photography, music and exploring regional architecture while travelling.
