Henri von Mulert, B.Eng.

Henri von Mulert was born in Oldenburg in 1997 and, even as a child, was always holding a screwdriver in his hand and asking how things worked. After 4 semesters studying mechanical engineering in the Hanseatic city of Rostock, he switched to wood as a material and began studying wood technology at the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development in 2019. Henri also works on various timber construction sites alongside his studies, allowing him to combine his theoretical knowledge of timber construction with practical experience.
In 2023, he moved to Leipzig and attended lectures at the HTWK Faculty of Architecture because of his interest in design. There he quickly came into contact with Prof Alexander Stahr and it was clear to him that he wanted to become part of the FLEX team. It was there that he wrote his final thesis on the topic of "robotic joinery in timber construction" in 2024. Since then, Henri has been a research assistant to Prof Stahr.
When Henri is not at the university or on the construction site, he tries to travel to the wave-rich coasts of Europe as often as possible to pursue his hobby - surfing.
