Andreas Körfgen, B.Eng.

Andreas Körfgen initially trained as a craftsman in the family business before moving to Leipzig to study. He successfully completed a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences. To deepen his knowledge, he is currently studying for a master's degree in civil engineering, specialising in structural engineering/building renovation, also at HTWK Leipzig.
Andreas has been a member of the team since 2024. He first came into contact with Prof Dr Alexander Stahr as part of the timber construction lecture for his bachelor's degree. He then completed his compulsory internship at FLEX, where his interest in scientific research developed. In co-operation with FLEX, he finally wrote his Bachelor's thesis. The subject of the thesis was experimental investigations into an innovative, form-fit connection for timber engineering based on the principle of surface interlocking.
