Benedikt Adrian, M.Sc.

Benedikt Adrian (*1990) completed his bachelor's degree at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and subsequently specialised in structural engineering and building refurbishment in his master's degree in civil engineering at HTWK Leipzig. During his academic career, he was supported by a scholarship from the Stiftung Begabtenförderung berufliche Bildung. In his master's thesis, he investigated the possibilities of recycling waste wood with the aim of preserving the fibre length in order to reuse the wood for construction purposes.
Through his training as a carpenter in 2013 and his subsequent self-employment in the construction industry, he combines sound scientific research with practical experience. His in-depth understanding of timber construction enables him to develop innovative solutions for complex challenges while always keeping practical relevance in mind.
He has been a research associate at FLEX since 2025 and works on the Recycling for Reuse (ReFoRe) project as a joint partner of TU Braunschweig. The aim of the research project is to efficiently process waste wood from buildings in order to optimise its reuse in the construction industry.
