Felix Schmidt-Kleespies, M.A.

Felix Schmidt-Kleespies (*1991) studied architecture at the HafenCity University in Hamburg, the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia and the HTWK Leipzig (2018). During his studies, Felix already made a name for himself with his parametric restoration approach for bentwood chairs, the Voronoi Chair Conceptmoved into the focus of FLEX. Since his master's thesis he has been investigating the synergies between traditional timber construction and digital manufacturing. As a research assistant and project manager, he is now working on the integration of AR data glasses into the assembly process of wooden panel elements (OptiPaRef), production-orientated and resource-efficient timber construction (IDS. feasibility study) and AI-based planning and prefabrication of wall panels (TimberWallDesAIgn). He shares the results of his work at international conferences and supervises students in theses and seminars.
