Luisa Ilse, BEng

Luisa Ilse (born 2000) grew up in Magdeburg. She developed a fascination for craftsmanship and wood at an early age. After completing her A-levels in 2019, she began her studies on the cooperative Bachelor’s programme in Civil Engineering at HTWK Leipzig. 

As part of her studies, she completed her training as a carpenter (journeyman, IHK) in 2022. She went on to obtain her Bachelor of Engineering in 2025.

She then began her Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, specialising in Interdisciplinary Timber Construction, at Erfurt University of Applied Sciences. She is due to complete this degree at the end of 2026.

She has been an intern at FLEX since June 2026. Her Master’s thesis is expected to be written in collaboration between the Institute and the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt.

In her spare time, Luisa enjoys arts and crafts, spending time by or on the water, or reading.
